Northern Kentucky has generated lots of economic announcements in the past year--business expansions here, job expansions there--and the momentum continues into this year. Much of the growth is thanks to a wealth of resources such as available land, a well-trained workforce and nearby transportation, including the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and DHL.

CVG adding nonstop flight to Denver

Frontier Airlines says it's going to start nonstop service from Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport to Denver later this year. The new service will begin May 17. Frontier's first flight from Denver will arrive at CVG the evening of May 16.

Frontier is a low-cost airline that operates from a primary hub at Denver International Airport.

The new flight will depart CVG at 6:15 a.m. and arrive in Denver at 7:15 a.m. daily except Sundays.

It'll depart Denver at 6:59 p.m. and arrive at CVG at 11:35 p.m. daily except Saturdays.

Airport wants feedback on master plan

The Cincinnati Northern Kentucky airport is rolling out its master plan Thursday evening.

Officials will explain the airports 'road map' for growth during a public information session. The master plan study includes passenger and cargo forecasts, facility assessments, and the feasibility of focusing on direct flights versus acting as a transfer hub.

Tonight's "open house" style meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

DHL facility adding more workers

DHL Express is adding 300 positions as it wraps up its hub expansion at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The logistics company hosts a job fair Tuesday to immediately fill 100 of the new openings.
