Romney: "I'm focused on big things"

Before an enthusiastic crowd of 4,000 supporters at milling company in Bond Hill, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney promised to focus on "big change" as president, while hammering at President Obama for being focused on "small things."


"He has now resorted to talking about characters on Sesame Street,'' Romney said, referring to Romney own reference to the Sesame Street character Big Bird in one of the presidential debates and his plans to cut funding for public broadcasting.

Crowd of 4,000 at Jet Machine for Romney speech

Cincinnati Fire Department officials estimated the crowd at Jet Machine at about 4,000.

Most were in the warehouse where Romney is to speak momentarily; others were in an overflow room next door.

Sen. Rob Portman, who was considered as Romney's running mate, is introducing Romney to the crowd now.

Portman made a pitch for early voting.

"They're open for business now,'' Portman said. "What do you say that after this, we all get in our cars and go down to Broadway (the location of county board of elections) and cast our ballots."

Antiques Roadshow announces air dates

The popular PBS/WGBS program Antiques Roadshow is announcing the air dates for several programs filmed in Cincinnati earlier this year.

The three Cincinnati Roadshow episodes will air as follows:


Hour 1: April 1, 2013, at 8pm
Hour 2: April 8, 2013, at 8pm
Hour 3: April 15, 2013, at 8pm

CET and ThinkTV16 will carry all three episodes at the schedule dates and times.

Ohio race "tight as a tick," Romney spokesman says

The race between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama in the key state of Ohio is “tight as a tick” and likely to stay that way right up to the end, a Romney campaign spokesman said before the GOP candidate’s event at a Bond Hill milling plant Thursday.
 

“In the last 12 days, it is going to be the candidate who is best able to identify and mobilize his supporters who is going to win Ohio,’’ said Chris Maloney, a spokesman for the Romney campaign in Ohio.
