Ohio's aerospace industry taking off with GE partnerships

GE Aviation and University of Cincinnati Research Institute (UCRI) have signed an agreement to collaborate at the new GE Aviation Research Center in Evendale and its three labs. GE says, "the scope of this agreement marks a first in Ohio between a leading aerospace company and a leading university research institute."

Council could provide funds to help with disparities for African-Americans

A Cincinnati Council majority is supporting a plan to provide an additional $2 million to benefit the African-American community.  It would help with health, business development and job training.  

Council Member Wendell Young introduced the motion this week during a Budget and Finance Committee meeting.

Cincy Council considering plan to bring new jobs to East Walnut Hills

Cincinnati Council will likely approve a parking lease in a few weeks that will allow UC Physicians to bring about 40 new jobs to the city.  

Bill Fisher with the city’s economic development division said the firm wants to consolidate all its administrative functions in one location.  UC Physicians has a building at Madison and Victory Parkway.  

But Fisher said it lacked enough parking.
