Ohio Supreme Court won't hear City Gospel Mission case

The Ohio Supreme Court has refused to hear a case that will allow the City Gospel Mission to relocate its facility to Queensgate.  The homeless shelter is planning to move from Over-the-Rhine to property located on Dalton Avenue.

The School of Rock: Taking it to the Stage

The School of Rock in Mason is founded on the principle that the best way to learn music is to play music.

The faculty of The School of Rock is associated with several notable Cincinnati bands such as The Rusty Griswolds, Wussy, Fairmount Girls and Afghan Whigs.  They take students of all ages from the lesson room to the stage by developing their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels.

ArtWorks preps for summer mural projects

Snow falls in front of the ArtWorks mural on the CET building in the West End.

ArtWorks is hiring artists and teenagers and putting up scaffolding in preparation for beginning work on ten murals.

The arts organization plans to hire at least 110 apprentices to work on the murals all around town.

Three more indicted in vote fraud investigation

Three more persons have been indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on charges of illegally voting in the November 2012 election, bringing the number charged with vote fraud up to six so far.


Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced the indictments Tuesday, saying, if convicted, they face the possibility of up to 18 months in prison.


They were among six cases referred to the prosecutor by the Hamilton County Board of Elections so far in a widespread investigation of vote fraud in last fall’s election.

Wanted: Ohio's oldest functioning refrigerator or freezer

That old fridge sitting in the basement or garage might yield a decent bounty.

So you've got a refrigerator you suspect Methuselah might have used at some point in his life?  Then utilities across the state of Ohio, including Duke, want to hear from you.  

They've kicked off Ohio's Oldest Refrigerator contest and say they'll pay a $1,250 prize for the state's most ancient fridge or freezer.

Dem dilemna: 10 candidates, only nine council seats

Now that the Cincinnati Democratic Committee has endorsed 10 Cincinnati City Council candidates, the trick for the party will be to let loyal Democrats know that they can only vote for nine of them.


“Yes, we need to develop a message on that,’’ said Hamilton County Democratic Party chairman Tim Burke said. “And, yes, it is a highly unusual situation.”
