He has received awards from the Ohio Associated Press, Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, The Press Club of Ohio, and the Cincinnati Society of Professional Journalists.

Heyne hosts Cincinnati Edition Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 pm and All Things Considered Monday through Friday.

Historian and author Harlow Giles Unger has delved into the lives of many known and lesser known historical figures, but his new book tells the story of a man who fought for Washington, served with Lincoln, witnessed Bunker Hill, and sounded the clarion against slavery on the eve of the Civil War. He negotiated an end to the War of 1812, engineered the annexation of Florida, and won the Supreme Court decision that freed the African captives of The Amistad.

Ann Romney: Ohio will play a big role in upcoming election

Ann Romney was joined on stage by Jane Portman, Cindy McCain and Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor.

Ann Romney campaigned for her husband today  in the battleground state of Ohio with her first stop at a Hamilton business.  Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor and Cindy McCain were on hand.  Jane Portman also helped warm up the crowd of several hundred at Vinylmax Windows, saying she believes Mitt Romney has the best policy proposals to get the economy moving again.

UC/Iraq educational partnership holds November reunion

Two groups from the University of Cincinnati will be going to Iraq in November as part of a State Department sponsored program to improve education around the world.   


This is the third year for the program, which partners UC with Salahaddin University in Erbil, Kurdistan, the northern region of Iraq.

Metro project aims to enhance Uptown bus service

Health officials being extra cautious as they monitor meningitis outbreak

Health officials continue to keep a close watch on the meningitis outbreak linked to recalled steroid injections. 

The Ohio Department of Health recently published a Food and Drug Administration list of 64 facilities in the state that received products of any kind from the New England Compounding Center.  But ODH spokeswoman Tessie Pollock says this is a precaution since, so far, only 3 lots of one particular steroid from NECC have been linked to the fungal meningitis.
