Maryanne Zeleznik

News Director and Morning Edition Host, Host of Cincinnati Edition

In 2005, Maryanne Zeleznik came to 91.7 WVXU from WNKU where she served as News and Public Affairs Director for 20 years. At WVXU she is responsible for all news and public affairs programming, covers daily news, produces local features, regularly contributes news stories to National Public Radio, and hosts Morning Edition Monday through Friday, and Cincinnati Edition on Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 pm.

Zeleznik has won numerous regional and national journalism awards including the Leo C. Lee Award for significant contributions to public radio news from the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated, as well as awards from Ohio Associated Press, Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, and the Cincinnati Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Just Released: Regional Indicators Report

WVXU News Director Maryanne Zeleznik

WVXU News Director Maryanne Zeleznik has an interview with President of Vision 2015, Bill Scheyer, and executive director of Agenda 360, Mary Stagaman, who share the latest Regional Indicators report.  It will show how the Greater Cincinnati region compares with 12 other similar cities.  The report comes out biennially, this is the second of these reports.

Vision 2015/Agenda 360 finds Cincinnati region doing better in some areas, but still ranks 10th

Cincinnati continues to rank 10th overall among a list of 12 similar regions when it comes to 15 indicators including jobs, cost of living, and population.
 
The findings come in the latest Regional Indicators report from Vision 2015 and Agenda 360. Vision 2015 President Bill Scheyer says the Goal of the report which comes out ever two years is to establish a common set of indicators to reflect the economic performance of the region.
