Cincy Council considering plan to bring new jobs to East Walnut Hills

Cincinnati Council will likely approve a parking lease in a few weeks that will allow UC Physicians to bring about 40 new jobs to the city.

Bill Fisher with the city’s economic development division said the firm wants to consolidate all its administrative functions in one location.  UC Physicians has a building at Madison and Victory Parkway.

But Fisher said it lacked enough parking.

“They have room in the building, the problem was parking,” Fisher said.  “So as they’re watching us develop a parking lot right down the street, they approached us and said we would like to bring jobs in from West Chester and consolidate them in East Walnut Hills.”

Fisher said the city worked to expand the lot between Madison Road and Myrtle Avenue to benefit the DeSales Corner business district.

“So we’ve been trying to work on a balance that would provide parking for UC Physicians, leave transient spots during the day, and then in the evening and the weekends, all those spots will be available,” Fisher said.

UC Physicians will have 43 spaces in the lot during regular business hours.

The UC Physicians will have 260 full-time equivalent employees at the location in East Walnut Hills.  It will mean about $45,000 of income tax revenue for the city.
