Cost for Cincinnati's restroom plan could be going lower
A Cincinnati Council Committee could vote Tuesday on a plan to locate the city's first freestanding public restroom at Findlay Market.
And the facility similar to the Portland Loo could cost a lot less than first thought.
Last week the city manager said such a project could have a price tag of $130,000 with about $90,000 of that for the actual restroom facility. But Council Member Chris Seelbach said the city may be able to get the restroom for about $40,000... lowering the overall cost.
If the concept proves popular it could be expanded to other parts of the city.
Several Council Members had requested a report on installing several 24-hour public restroom facilities in and around downtown and Over-the-Rhine.
