John Bemelmans Marciano, grandson of “Madeline” creator Ludwig Bemelmans and author of two new “Madeline” books, was in town recently and came by our studio for a conversation with Barbara Gray. He talks about how his grandfather came up with Madeline and reads an excerpt from his Madeline & the Old House in Paris book.

"Around the World in 80 Days" on stage for the holidays

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s annual holiday production is Around the World in 80 Days, the classic Jules Verne tale given the Joseph McDonough/David Kisor musical treatment. Lead actors Ken Early and Michael Bath join Rick Pender to talk about their characters of Phileas Fogg and Passepartout. The show opens December 4 and runs through January 4.

"Consuming the American Landscape" exhibit at Iris BookCafe

Over the Rhine’s Iris BookCafe & Gallery is currently featuring the photographic exhibit John Ganis: Consuming the American Landscape, based upon his 2003 book of the same name. Curator Bill Messer is with Jane Durrell to discuss the importance of these photos and Ganis’ current work along the US coastlines.
