Lee Hay sits down with local attorney, musician and co-owner of the Blue Wisp Jazz Club, Ed Felson, to discuss the current financial problems facing the club and the efforts he is undertaking to stabilize the business. The Blue Wisp’s move to a larger space downtown, plus adding a full food menu, have both increased costs exponentially. While making no guarantees, he does want to try everything possible to keep the club open and a home for live music.

Covington is fast becoming another go-to destination for artist studios, gallery shows, and more importantly, an organization that provides support services to local artists. Jane Durrell welcomes Natalie Bowers and Cate Yellig from the Artisans Enterprise Center to talk about the center’s mission and upcoming activities.

Local author Emma Carlson Berne joins Barbara Gray to discuss her new young reader’s novel, Never Let You Go, a romantic suspense thriller about a love triangle that goes wrong.

Joshua Steele, the managing director of the Otto M. Budig Theater at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in Covington, is in the studio with Jim Stump to talk about the upcoming in-concert performance of the classic Broadway musical, Camelot. This production will feature the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and in the lead role of Arthur, Broadway veteran and longtime NKU theater professor, Mark Hardy. In-concert means there are no set changes and limited props and costumes, but the actors perform in character. This special production runs January 24 through February 3.

The incredible Lloyd Library and Museum in downtown Cincinnati has a fascinating exhibit running until the end of February. Titled What Makes the Reindeer Fly, it is a book and art exhibit that explores the role of "magic," or hallucinogenic, mushrooms both scientifically and culturally from around the globe and how they have a greater presence culturally then you ever imagined possible. Curator Anna Heran talks about this fun and informative exhibit in an interview with Lee Hay.
