Cincinnati Boychoir, Elementz and Art Academy team up for holiday performance

A one-of-a-kind holiday event is happening at Memorial Hall on December 13 and 15 – it’s young people from Cincinnati Boychoir, Elementz, and the Art Academy of Cincinnati combining forces for SPARK, a performance of music, dance, poetry and visual arts. Lee Hay welcomes in Abdullah Powell from Elementz and Christopher Eanes from the Cincinnati Boychoir to preview this unique and exciting collaboration.

"A Klingon Christmas Carol"

It was inevitable. Coming to the Art Academy of Cincinnati is the debut performance of A Klingon Christmas Carol. Dickens’ tale is told in a distinctly Star Trek way, performed all in the Klingon language with opera-esque supertitles for those unfamiliar with their verbiage. Jim Stump welcomes director Mike Hall and actor Donald Volpenhein for a preview of this unique holiday presentation.

DVD's for your holiday giving

With Christmas gift time just around the corner, give some thought to presenting that special film buff in your life with a DVD or Blu-Ray box set to match his or her tastes and interests. It’s possible to find box sets of just about anything that’s been committed to film. There are sets of animated works for kids; sets of TV shows from the early 1950s through just last season; and sets of films by genre, actor, or director. If you’re into the cinematic equivalent of self-flagellation, there’s even a box set of all of the Police Academy movies.

New music from Acarya

Cincinnati tribal rock duo Acarya (Liz Wu and Wes Davidson) is releasing their new downloadable CD, Reperio Terra, on November 29. It’s an acoustic rock album with guitar, male vocal and a specially designed drum set. Liz Wu joins Ron Esposito to talk about the group and the genesis of this new project.
