The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum has announced the five former players nominated for induction into the Hall of Fame, and it’s time for fans to cast their votes. Howard Wilkinson welcomes Rick Walls from the Hall into the studio to talk about the voting process and this year’s nominees: Jeff Brantley, John Franco, Danny Graves, Ken Griffey Jr., and Reggie Sanders.

Young writer's program share their thoughts on the theme "Believe"

Writers of Outstanding Words, a creative writing and poetry program for children, celebrated the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington by composing verse under the theme Believe. Executive Director Sabina Barron and several of the young poets are in studio with Barbara Gray to talk about the project, two upcoming events and recite some of their poems.

Movie Preview: James Gandolfini film retrospective

The James Gandolfini Retrospective, presented by Cincinnati World Cinema at the Sharonville Arts Center August 24 and 25

People notice when celebrities die, as they always get top billing on the news, and in discussions around the water cooler. But sometimes even the most jaded are taken aback at such an event. Such was the case a few weeks ago with the death of James Gandolfini at age 51. Starting in 1987 with a bit role in an unreleased film, Gandolfini worked his way through the ranks in Hollywood, playing in such films as True Romance, Get Shorty, and The Mexican, until he hit the motherlode of stardom with the role of Tony Soprano in HBO’s hit series The Sopranos. For eighty-six episodes of this dissection of a mob boss and his dysfunctional family, James Gandolfini commanded the home screen and won a Golden Globe and several Emmys for his efforts.
