Sylvain Archer: shop owner and musician

Sylvain Archer is the owner of the Madisonville shop French Rendez-Vous during the day, but away from the store he’s an accomplished guitarist. He joins Robyn Carey-Allgeyer to discuss his new, all-French CD with his new group, French Axe, recorded in the Corbett Studio at Cincinnati Public Radio, and featuring other top local musicians Eric Sayer on bass, Rob Allgeyer on Hammond organ and accordion and Mark on drums.

New public art piece at convention center

Cincinnati’s Duke Energy Convention Center is about to receive a brand new public art installation, compliments of ArtWorks and local artist Brenda Tarbell. As Jane Durrell learns from the artist and ArtWorks apprentice Susan Romer, the piece is entitled Buds, Blossoms, Branches, Boughs for the Queen and is an homage to local flora. The piece will be officially dedicated on July 10.

For the second year, the Malton Gallery, Southbank Partners and the City of Newport will present the Kentucky Art Outpost, a regional arts exhibition at the World Peace Bell Park. Cincinnati joins in this year's Global Water Dance

The Greater Cincinnati Dance Alliance will be part of the biennial Global Water Dance on June 22 (during Paddlefest) along the Serpentine Wall. This event helps raise awareness of the importance of water to the earth through music and dance. Choreographer Fanchon Shur and composer Shari Lauter share details of this year’s event with our Ron Esposito.
