Jazz Drummer Jeff Hamilton

Acclaimed jazz drummer Jeff Hamilton is coming back to downtown’s Blue Wisp Jazz Club on May 2 to play with the DePaul University Jazz Ensemble, a group he recorded a CD with last year. Jeff Hamilton dropped by the studio to talk with Lee Hay to talk about this gig and other projects he’s been working on.

Savor the Season foodie event

One of Cincinnati’s lesser-known treasures is the Gorman Heritage Farm in Evendale. This working farm is visited by thousands of families and school kids through the year, and coming up on May 4 is their second local food event, Savor the Season: Farm to Fork Demonstrations. Anne Arenstein welcomes in Vicki Foster and Jamie Stoneham from Gorman Heritage Farm to talk about this night of local chefs, food writers and vendors that also features tastings, demonstrations and interaction with the area’s top foodies.

"The Quiltbox Sessions"

Local percussionist Dan Dorff recently released his newest effort, The Quiltbox Sessions, a record of vignettes and re-orchestrated classical piano works that he did with a multi-instrumentalist and composer named Ronnie Kuller. Brian O’Donnell welcomes Dan Dorff into the studio to talk about this collaboration and recording at The Monastery Studio in Walnut Hills.

Clay Alliance Spring Pottery Fair

DeSales Corner in East Walnut Hills will be lined with some of the area’s finest ceramic artists on May 4 for the 13th Annual Clay Alliance Spring Pottery Fair. The event’s co-chair, Jessica Thayer, joins our Barbara Gray to talk about some of the 60 artists who will be exhibiting, as well as the some of the music and other activities that will be going on, rain or shine, that day.
