Photographic artist Elena Dorfman currently has an exhibit of her large-scale images at the Phyllis Weston Gallery on Madison Road. She joins our Judith Turner-Yamamoto to talk about the two years it took to capture all the images from rock quarries around the Midwest that make up her Empire Falling exhibit.

Local filmmaker Andrea Torrice chronicles her mother's life

Andrea Torrice is an award winning documentary and public television producer in Cincinnati who is currently working on a very personal new film about her mother. Art as Action: A Conversation with Abstract Expressionist Painter Gloria Torrice details her mother and some friends in the 1940’s who moved to Manhattan and took on the predominantly male art world. She joins our Jane Durrell to discuss what prompted her to make this film and how she is going about getting it funded and shown.

Study: Arts lead to engagement

A new study suggests there is a connection between the arts and civic engagement.

ArtsWave and Agenda 360 partnered for “Snapshot 2012:  Arts Engagement in Greater Cincinnati.”  It was a survey of the general population in the Greater Cincinnati area that for the first time provides baseline data on arts engagement in the region.
