Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati opens the regional premiere of Black Pearl Sings by Frank Higgins on March 13, and it’s a powerful musical about being a woman in a man’s world, being black in a white world, and about holding on to your soul when the world treats people as a commodity. Lee Hay finds out more about this production from the two stars, Annie Fitzpatrick and Torie Wiggins.
Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati continues its holiday tradition of presenting creative and locally written versions of some of the greatest children’s tales. This year, the classic Alice in Wonderland returns with all of the one-of-a-kind Lewis Carroll beloved characters. Our Rick Pender welcomes in two of the actors, Michael Bath and Sara Mackie, with a preview of this year’s production.
Two of Cincinnati’s great theater names, Ed Stern and Dale Hodges, are teaming up once again for the regional premiere of Mrs. Mannerly at the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. Stern, who directs, and Hodges, who stars, have worked together for years at the Playhouse in the Park’s production of A Christmas Carol and others.
