Nancy Huth, Curator of Education and Installation Curator from the Taft Museum of Art talks about the new exhibit Star Power: Edward Steichen's Glamour Photography. As she tells Mark Perzel, Star Power features iconic portraits of famous actors, actresses, painter, producers, etc. and most of these photographs originally appeared in the Conde Nast publications Vogue and Vanity Fair.
Mark Perzel welcomes to the studio James Crump, chief curator at the Cincinnati Art Museum and co-chair of the city-wide FotoFocus event, and the director of the FotoFocus organization, Mary Ellen Goeke. They discuss the origins of this festival of photographic arts and some of the many events happening this month.
FotoFocus is starting it’s month-long celebration of the photographic arts here in Cincinnati with a very special Herb Ritts exhibition opening at the Cincinnati Arts Museum on October 6. David Delegator learns more about the event and this particular exhibit from James Crump, co-chair of FotoFocus and chief curator at the Art Museum.
Sylvia Rombus from the Malton Gallery and artist Edward Cassagrande are taking their recent Bridging Humanity exhibition to ArtPrize 2012 in Grand Rapids, Michigan where, for the first time, one exhibit will be featured on the city’s Gillette Bridge.
