Council to vote on tax breaks for neighborhood projects

Cincinnati Council will vote Wednesday on plans to provide tax breaks for neighborhood projects in Walnut Hills and Linwood.  

The Walnut Hills project calls for adding 24 market rate rental units and two commercial spaces in buildings located on Walnut Street and East 15th Street.  

The developer said right now the structures are uninhabitable.  The total construction cost for this project is about $432,000.

Concerns rise over new YMCA hours

Some members of the Melrose YMCA in Walnut Hills are asking Cincinnati officials to help restore hours at the facility.


About two dozen speakers, including Victoria Evans, voiced their concerns Wednesday to the weekly City Council meeting.

Two-Way returns to McMillian and Taft in Walnut Hills

The process of converting McMillan and William Howard Taft to two-way traffic in Walnut Hills begins this weekend. 


Cincinnati transportation officials and neighborhood leaders have been working for a year on the plan to change both streets between I-71 and Victory Parkway. 


McMillan Street is scheduled to be repainted and converted to two-way Saturday.  The work on Taft is planned for next Saturday. 


Clarence Taylor is the President of the Walnut Hills Area Council.  He welcomes the return of two-way traffic.
